Artisan İlker Güler

İsmet İlker Güler was born in 2001 in Eskişehir. As one of the youngest meerschaum artisans in Eskişehir, he stands out with his work that brings together art and craftsmanship.

He began his art education at Eskişehir Atatürk Fine Arts High School, majoring in Painting, and graduated from there. He then continued his education at Anadolu University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Sculpture, where he is currently pursuing his undergraduate degree.

His connection with meerschaum dates back to a very early age. At just 9–10 years old, he first touched meerschaum in his father’s workshop, an experience that marked the beginning of his professional journey. He grew up in a family with a deep-rooted tradition of meerschaum craftsmanship spanning seven generations. Immersed in this heritage, Güler gradually developed his skills and stepped into the profession on a professional level.

Having worked with meerschaum for as long as he can remember, İsmet İlker Güler possesses extensive knowledge and experience in production, craftsmanship, design, and the historical background of the material. Today, he continues his work professionally, contributing to the art of meerschaum.
